better late than never
Sorry for the long delay, I got caught up in my own personal and family stuff and lost interest in blogging. I hope to give anyone who is interested a bit of follow up so that it will help them in making their own decision about having this kind of operation. To be honest that was my only goal in writing this blog - to let guys who were considering this have some genuine and accurate information about what it's really like without any kind of bias.
So, last time we spoke I was on my way to the specialist for my one month follow up visit. That went ok, but the plane journey was long and very uncomfortable and involved a great deal of waiting around in airports which was really not fun at all, given that I was in pain. After the operation I had an area of skin on the shaft of my penis which had kind of "burst" although that is not a very good description. Some of the skin had stretched and split over one area about 1.5cm in diameter. This required me to have salt water baths twice a day of a half hour duration per bath in order to prevent infection and, more importantly, to keep the skin from hardening into a scab which would have caused some obvious scarring in the future. After each bath the wound needed to be dressed in Bactigras and wrapped in gauze. This whole process lasted a couple of months and was incredibly fucking tedious and just a bit uncomfortable. BUT when you have a goal in sight and the actions have already been taken then you can only keep going forwards and there is no point griping: you just have to get on with what's required and hope for the best. So that's what I did - kept going.
And now here I am, at what I think is 7 months post-operative. What's the story ? Well I have to tell you that it's been a difficult road. The wound took a while to heal and then there were some issues surrounding the way in which it had healed although nothing too drastic to write about (but worrying at the time, nonetheless.) Then after all that there were/are the required stretching exercises 3 times per day and it took several months for the swelling to go down. Even now there is a certain amount of swelling but that is fine and only because of the stretching. There have been several visits to the specialist which were expected as part of the whole process and also one serious occasion where I suffered an infection despite my efforts at hygiene - so if you have this op then please be damned careful about cleanliness and ensure that you use anti-bacterial soaps and ensure that you don't transfer any bacteria from public toilets, transport etc. I'm not going into details and it wasn't directly caused by the operation, but you have been warned !
There is, I imagine, one important question that a person reading this is asking. The answer to that question is that I am very happy about the results, despite the setbacks and difficulties along the way. I'm not going to give Ron Jeremy any competition in the porn business but I can definitely do a lot of things now that I wouldn't have considered before and not feel self-conscious about doing them - gym, beach, whatever. And even though my main reason was not really about sex but more about self-esteem and confidence, I have to say that having a wider and slightly longer cock sure isn't a bad thing ;)
This is my last entry I think, but I will answer genuine comments from people seeking more information about this kind of surgery. The last point I want to make is that there are many surgeons out there and I suspect that very few of them do a good job. This is important stuff, this is potentially risking your life, make sure that you are getting the right stuff from the right surgeon or else don't do it. Good luck.
