Drug Uses
Bentyl is used for treatment of cramps or spasms of the stomach, intestines, and bladder.
How Taken
Bentyl comes as tablets to take by mouth. Follow instructions on you prescription label. Do not take more of it or for a longer period than your doctor prescribed.
Warnings/Precautions
Do not stop taking this drug without your doctor`s approval. He may want to take you off this medication by gradually lowering the dose, otherwise such side effects as vomiting, sweating, and dizziness may occur. Do not take Bentyl without your doctor`s approval if you are pregnant, likely to become pregnant or breastfeeding.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the Missed Dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Possible Side Effects
Some of the Possible Side Effects are- confusion or memory loss, constipation, difficult urination, drowsiness, dryness of mouth/nose/throat or skin, and unusual excitement, nervousness, restlessness, or irritability.
Storage
Store this medication at room temperature between15–30°C (59–86°F). Keep away from children and excess heat, light and moisture (not in the bathroom).
Overdose
If overdose is suspected seek medical attention immediately. Some of the symptoms of a Bentyl overdose are- nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, dilated pupils, hot dry skin, dizziness, dry mouth, difficulty in swallowing.
More Information
Be careful when driving, operating machinery, or performing other hazardous activities. If you experience dizziness or drowsiness, avoid these activities. Be careful when taking alcohol during your treatment. It may increase drowsiness and dizziness while you are taking Bentyl. Do not stop taking Bentyl without your doctor`s approval.
