Blogging For Affiliate Profits

One of the best ways to begin marketing affiliate products online is through the use of a blog. First of all it's a totally free resource that you can begin using in a matter of minutes and you can literally reach a global audience with them, so why not?

Once you have th affiliate product you intend to market (you do have one of those, don't you?), you then need to register for a blog. The two most utilised blogging softwares online are Blogger, which is owned by Google, and Wordpress. I prefer to use Wordpress myself, however if you're new to blogging I'd advise you stick with Blogger based on the fact that it's much easier to setup and use.

Obviously you'll need to base your blog around a topic that relates to the product you're selling. For example, if you're wanting to market a line of sexual health products like herbal aphrodisiacs or even erectile dysfunction medications like Viagra or Cialis, you would base your blog around sexual health.

When you begin writing, it's important to note you shouldn't make it sound like you're selling anything at all, merely sharing some information with others on the web who might be interested in it. Going with the sexual health theme again, you could write a story about how you were experiencing a lack in sexual energy when it came time to make love with your partner or spouse, but then you found a herbal remedy which helped you out a lot. You'd include your affiliate link somewhere in the article and hopefully someone would click on it and buy the product.

I've heard many people recommend that you should simply set up a single-post blog like a sales letter and just leave that there for people to find themselves. In my opinion this is not the best way to go about it as it usually appears more like a sales letter to a customer and not a genuine blog post, which then affects its credibility.

You want to set up your blog for long-term success and this means writing in it regularly in order to bring people back. Don't be scared in thinkin that it's something you need to work on every day in order to sustain some great traffic either. One of my blogs that I've only had up for arounf three months receives around 200 people per day in traffic and I only post once or twice a week on it.

Even if you're not an expert on whatever topic it is you want to be writing about, there are many ways you can gain information and knowledge to help you in writing your articles. Sites like Ezine Articles are fantastic as information resources and you can simple re-write what you read in your own words, effectively turning the article into your own work which can then be published on your blog.

Blogging is not something that will generally pay out for you in the short-term, but once you are generating some good traffic flow, will almost sustain itself.

So, hopefully you can use these pointers to make your next blogging-cum-affiliate-marketing venture not only fun, but very profitable! Take care and good luck!
